Good points, but I don't think Biden (and other Democrats) don't say it for fear of upsetting the far left. George W. didn't say it either. I believe they don't say it because a) it's diplomatically reckless, and b) not entirely accurate. All the Muslim world isn't at war with the West, just as all American Christians aren't out to establish a fundamentalist theocracy.
