Ms. Baker, I was a newspaper columnist for major papers for more than three decades. Writing well for publication is demanding even when that is your primary job, not a sideline. I find it remarkable that this writer can produce so much copy -- clean, polished copy -- while preparing for and teaching college classes, grading papers, and co-parenting a child, not to mention tweeting and sometimes interacting with fans. It is indeed odd, if not impossible. Your suggestions that it's misogyny or jealously on my part is absurd. I am married to a marvelous writer and I not only respect women writers (not that I ever make a gender distinction), I can count dozens as friends. I ask the questions I asked because it is my journalistic training to do so if something or someone strikes me as suspicious. In this case, I'm not the only one, and many of the others are in fact women. Finally, you write well yourself. I don't agree with your point, but I respect your obvious intelligence and skill.
