Not surprised you are getting wildly divergent comments on this piece, Bebe, if only because I see so much America bashing on Medium. But your points are absolutely valid. We are, as you acknowledge, an imperfect nation, but many, many Americas live very well, far better than the average Dane or Coasta Rican, and not just the super rich. Even our poor today often have more than low-income people 50 or 60 years ago. I know because I used to be one of them.
