The WORST President in History?

It’s not Joe Biden OR the reptile who says so

“Crooked Joe Biden is the Worst President, by far, in the History of our Nation,” wrote Donald Trump on Truth Social the day after President Joe Biden announced that he had decided not to seek reelection. (Trump’s Caps, btw.)

I realize the Donald has given us many, many contenders, but this crack gets my vote as single stupidest, most exaggerated thing he has tweeted or uttered aloud since going political in 2015.

I mean, with this claim, we’re deeply into “Don’t pee on my shoes and tell me it’s raining” territory.

Biden has gotten more significant legislation passed in his first and not yet finished term than any President since Franklin Roosevelt. He got us out of an unwinnable foreign war that had cost thousands of lives and billions of dollars. He has reinvigorated NATO in a noble effort to save Ukraine from an unconscionable assault by Russia’s dictator, Vladimir Putin. He’s begun the decades overdue repair and modernizing America’s infrastructure. He’s played few, if any, rounds of golf.

Only a shameless, self-serving liar or someone massively ignorant of U.S. history — or both — would ever bellow repeatedly that Joe Biden is the Worst President ever. Biden has made mistakes, sure, but his overall legacy is already quite positive.

And here’s the thing: Donald Trump isn’t the Worst President either.

Historians rank at least two other Presidents, Andrew Johnson and James Buchanan, lower the Trump.

Trump cut taxes for people and corporations who didn’t need them; spent way too much time preening for his supporters, insulting adversaries on social media, and playing golf; and lost an unnecessary 200,000 or more American lives to Covid-19 because he listened to his mule-headed base rather than epidemiologists. But he was growing our economy until the pandemic undercut everything, and he didn’t start a new war. He wasn’t remotely great, but he wasn’t the bottom of our barrel.

That said, he is hands down the worst ex-President in our history.

Unable to accept the possibility that he could lose to Biden, a candidate much better liked than Hilary Clinton, whom he barely beat, and having escaped (so far) conviction for a deadly riot that he unofficially instigated in Washington, he has spent his first 3 1/2 years out of office poisoning the country that he claims to love with petty, petulant behavior, spewing lies and insults like a burst sewer pipe.

Our greatest ex-President, Jimmy Carter, teaches Sunday school, writes books, and helps build houses for poor people.

Trump, Carter’s antithesis, whines, carps, bitches, threatens and rides a golf cart.

President Biden should have called ex-President Trump out on the “worst President” slur and other patently untrue assertions and accusations during their June 27 debate. They were fish in a barrel, T-ball setups. That Biden couldn’t defend himself against such brazen lies was the beginning of the loss of confidence that has led him to step aside.

Now that Biden has officially withdrawn and Vice President Kamala Harris is the endorsed and likely Democratic nominee, Trump has already ditched the kinder, gentler persona he promised in the wake of the attempt on his life at a MAGA rally in Pennsylvania.

At his first campaign rally event since the Republican convention, he labeled Harris “a far-left lunatic.”

Hyperbole, thy name is Donald.

Harris isn’t far left, she’s a pretty standard old-school liberal.

And as for her being a lunatic, just remember that the weirdo who hurled the insult has not only expressed respect and admiration for Vladimir Putin, a murderous dictator who really exists, but also for Hannibal “The Cannibal” Lecter, a psychopath who doesn’t.
