There's no way we can go quickly from where we are now to where Ms. Martinchek believes we should be without starting a shooting war in which our "side" is vastly under-armed. And her repeated insinnuation that Biden -- or Harris, for that matter -- will be little better than Trump is ludicrous. Biden, for all his shortcomings, is 100 times more decent than Trump on his best day. We have to regain our bearings and our balance before we can truly begin to rectify the deeply imbedded inequality and dysfunction our nation has developed over the past 50 years. We need a moderate, even a rightish moderate, to see us through this phase. Biden and Harris will do this just fine. And as long as I'm venting, how about we stop this America's-gone-to-hell crap? To believe that is to sell us tragically short as a people and to ignore the truly heinous regimes in this world and the ugliness in every country's history. Perspective, folks. Perspective.
